deep-tissue massage

Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain, focusing on the deeper layers of muscle tissue to relieve acute tension.

Deep tissue massage uses deeper pressure techniques, which are beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. Your therapist will build up the pressure throughout the treatment so the body gets familiar with the touch and pressure.

Therapist will use forearms, fists, thumbs and knuckles work to apply deeper pressure. You may be asked to breathe deeply as the massage therapist works on certain tense areas. It is important to drink plenty of water as you can after the massage to flush metabolic waste from the tissues.

A successful session should leave your muscles feeling released and relaxed. You may feel slightly sore the day after but the feeling after that will be incomparable, you will feel free of tension and at ease.

This treatment is great to release tension and work on knots.
